Training, Education and Credentialing

By providing continuing education opportunities and regular professional training, the organization fosters an environment where employees have the resources and support to provide quality care for patients.

The “Community” College
This internal “college” offers a multidisciplinary menu of clinical and non-clinical courses through an intranet portal.

Leadership University
This professional development curriculum presents online and hands-on courses aimed at helping managers attain their requisite leadership skills for professional growth.

Online Training Course
Self-paced, interactive courses are focused on particular computer modules and are a quick, easy way to gain valuable expertise and be more productive.

Nursing Scholarship Program
The CHS Scholarship Committee awards full or partial scholarships for attendance at LPN or RN schools.  Scholarship funds are awarded up to $5,000 per student, per year.  LPN to RN progression scholarships are available.

Educational Assistance
Full-time employees looking to maintain or improve job related skills may be eligible for tuition reimbursement for courses at accredited institutions.

A variety of corporate-sponsored courses, training opportunities and conferences are offered to develop all levels of employees:

Physician Office Operations Training
A three-day course held at CHS’ corporate headquarters is conducted once a month for new CHS physicians and their office managers.

Continuing Medical Education Courses
CME courses are regularly offered to medical staffs by local hospitals and periodically by the corporate office.

Chief Nursing Officer Training Program
CHS assists CNOs in advancing their skills through a formal CHS developed program.  All CNOs are required to complete the program.

Computer-based Training
CHS employees are provided access to computer-based training programs that provide opportunities to meet continuing education requirements.

Ongoing Educational Conferences
CHS supports inter-hospital peer networking and continuing education for hospital managers through a wide range of conferences. Some of our corporate sponsored conferences include:
